Having found the Worli firm from which the Opel Corsa used in the murder of Sheena Bora was rented, the Khar Police are looking into why former Star India CEO Peter Mukerjea hired the car for his wife Indrani despite being in London at the time.
The police are also trying to find out the reason Indrani gave Peter for hiring the car.
Officials have identified the car rental company as AM Motors on Dr E Moses Road, Worli, and recorded the owner Faizal Ahmed's statement, who is also a friend of Peter Mukerjea.

A source said AM Motors is about 500 metres from the offices of Star India, Peter’s former company, and has been providing cars to it for eight years. Peter and Ahmed are members of Willingdon Sports Club, to which AM Motors also provides cars, and lists it among its loyal clients on its website.
Peter and his family would hire cars from Ahmed’s company whenever they needed to, according to the source. The company never charged them for cars they rented for personal use but the Mukerjeas always returned them with topped-up fuel tanks, the source added.
Both Ahmed and R Fernandez, manager of AM Motors, refused to speak to the media on Wednesday.
