Police release computer sketches of abductors

india Updated: Aug 07, 2006 01:04 IST

ON SUNDAY, the police released two computer sketches of the suspected abductors of Shubhankar, the son of BSNL employee, Shiv Nayak Tiwari, who was abducted on July 31 under mysterious circumstances.

The cops released the computer sketches after talking to a PCO owner from whose booth Shubhankar’s abductors allegedly informed the family about the abduction.

Though, the cops have taken several people under arrest, but there are no reports of any breakthrough in this context so far. Shubhankar had gone missing mysteriously on July 31. He was last seen playing outside the house. A couple of hours after the abduction, the family members received a call informing them about Shubhankar’s abduction. The caller didn’t speak for long and disconnect the phone after telling the family about the abduction.

The cops interrogated several relatives and friends of Shubhankar, including the teachers of his school. On the basis of suspicion, the cops arrested two people who had worked in Shubhankar’s house earlier. But, the two couldn’t reveal much. Cops said that the call made to Shubhankar’s family after the abduction was made from a PCO in Rajnikhand.

The PCO owner was interrogated. The owner told the cops that he got suspicious about two people and now the cops are working on the theory that those two people whose sketches have now been released could be vital links in tracing the victim. However, Shubhankar’s family members, in the absence of any creditable breakthrough by the cops so far, are busy praying for the safety of the youngest member of their family.
