Police station's power goes as DMRC pulls plug

The police station at the MG Road Metro station has turned into a dark room as the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) disconnected its power supply, saying the facility has been set up without following proper procedure.

For the past seven days officials deployed at the police station are managing the show without light. The DMRC has asked the police department to show the documents on the basis of which they have possessed the space in the Metro premises.

"We are forced to sit in the dark room for last seven days and DMRC has been doing it deliberately. They were not ready to provide us any space to set up a police station in the Metro premises," said a police official at the MG Road Metro station.

The official said that the DMRC is also not providing free passes to them to perform their duty in the city metro stations.

"The police department has written a letter to DMRC to solve this problem. The DMRC has not been supporting and creating problems for police to perform their duty," said Maheshwar Dayal, DCP, east Gurgoan.

The DMRC seems to be less concerned about the security of the Gurgaon Metro stations as all its stations in Delhi boast of high security with CCTV cameras installed. Ever since the Gurgaon route was opened, CCTV cameras have not been installed at any of the stations.
