Police team nabs criminal minutes after robbery

Two weeks after they made their first arrest, the same team of officers, travelling in the same Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV) nabbed a criminal minutes after he robbed a milk agency owner, police said today

Two weeks after they made their first arrest, the same team of officers, travelling in the same Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV) nabbed a criminal minutes after he robbed a milk agency owner, police said on Monday.

Meenu Chaudhary, DCP (northwest) said Vishnu, a Sonepat resident,released recently after serving a three-year jail term in a murder case, was held after a high-speed chase.

"Pradeep Singh, who owns a dairy in Rishi Nagar area, was on his way to a bank in the Sainik Vihar area, when he was robbed by three men, including Vishnu, around 3pm," Chaudhary said.

Police said the assailants fled with Rs 16,22,000 after shooting at Singh.

"Our ERV was standing by and went after the trio, who sped on an Apache motorcycle. They were chased for 600m at a speed of 100 km/hour
and overpowered," Chaudhary said.
