Police team probing eveteasing attacked

A group of nomads attacked a police team investigating a case of alleged eveteasing in Kanpur (Rural) district, leaving four policemen injured, one of then seriously.

A group of nomads attacked a police team investigating a case of alleged eveteasing in Kanpur (Rural) district, leaving four policemen injured, one of then seriously.

“A group of nomads attacked and injured the team led by sub-inspector of Bhoginipur police station when they were questioning the alleged victim yesterday,” Kanpur (Rural) Superintendent of Police KS Pipil said to PTI on Monday.

The victim, belonging to Prahladpur area in the district, in her complaint alleged that some members of the community molested her on Sunday evening and assaulted her family members who came to rescue her.

The injured policemen, including one in critical conditions, have been admitted to a local hospital, he said, adding a case has been registered against 13 persons.
