Police told to issue notices to accused
A Mumbai court asks police to issue notices to all 14 accused on a revision plea against the granting of bail to them.
A Mumbai court on Thursday directed the police to issue notices to all the 14 accused in the New Year molestation case on a revision application filed against the granting of bail to them.
The review plea, filed by the police, will come up for hearing in the court of Principle Sessions Judge Ashok Bhangale on February 4.
Prosecutor RR Kini told the court the police should be given a chance for investigation as they had not been given custody of the accused, released from the jail on January 8.
A Metropolitan Magistrate's Court had granted bail to the accused on January 3, hours after they were arrested in connection with the molestation of two NRI women by a mob of around 50 people outside a five-star hotel in suburban Juhu.
The incident came to light after two photographers of Hindustan Times caught the incident in their cameras and later called the police.
The accused have denied their involvement in the incident.
