A Muslim forum on Thursday condemned the recent clash in Begun town of Chittorgarh district in Jaipur and alleged that local police were liberal towards the mob.
Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, members of the forum informed that a six-member enquiry committee of the forum had visited the town recently and have found that it was the police and some officials who had not taken adequate action against the trouble makers.
Sharing the findings of enqiury with the reporters, Mohammed Salim, state president of Jamat-e-Islami-Hind, who led the committee, said, before the 'rang teras' procession on March 17, the peace community of the town had already warned the administration that there might be some disturbances during the procession. But police did not take much preventive steps, he said.
Tension prevailed in the Begun town on March 17 over alleged spalshing of gulaal at a holy place and police so far has registered three cases and 66 people have been arrested.
