The Bhartiya Janta Party is facing severe criticism from the Opposition over the involvement of foreign minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje in the Lalit Modi visa controversy.
Congress on Wednesday released a signed version of Rajasthan chief minister's secret affidavit supporting controversial former IPL chief Lalit Modi's immigration bid in UK, demanding her immediate resignation.
The party has so far backed both Swaraj and Raje. Senior leaders have said any action would be as good as admission of guilt and undermine the government’s corruption-free image.
The leadership is also wary of a possibly damaging after effect from sacking senior leaders like Raje.
But with growing clamour for her resignation, will the party be forced to take action against the Rajasthan chief minister?
