The BJP on Sunday claimed that there was every possibility of the CPI(M) realigning with the Congress after the Lok Sabha polls.

"The Left parties are experts in alignment and realignment and there is every possibility of them joining hands with Congress after the polls," senior BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu told reporters in Pollachi on Sunday.

Terming the Third Front as an "illusion" and merely a "group photograph", he said the Left parties which supported UPA government for four and a half years should also own up responsibility for the government's "failures".

He said there was a strong wave blowing against DMK and Congress in Tamil Nadu due to the price rise and power cut.

On the Sri Lankan Tamils issue, he said India could have used its good bilateral relations with the island nation to arrive at a peaceful solution to the ethnic problem there. But the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre and DMK in Tamil Nadu had adopted a "casual" approach to it, he said.

"The BJP never supported the cause of terrorism in the island nation, but would definitely fight for the Tamil cause for giving decent, dignified and equal rights for the Tamil population," he said.
