Power trips on BJP while commenting on Digvijaya's 'dark days'

Nothing could have embarrassed the BJP leadership more than a power cut at exactly the moment when BJP national spokesperson Prakash Javadekar talked of comparing Digvijaya Singh’s 10-year rule with Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s tenure at a press conference.

AICC general secretary Digvijaya Singh must be thanking the power distribution company in Bhopal.

Nothing could have embarrassed the BJP leadership more than a power cut at exactly the moment when BJP national spokesperson Prakash Javadekar talked of comparing Singh’s 10-year rule with Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s tenure at a press conference.

In the run-up to the assembly elections, BJP leaders including chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan have attacked Digvijaya Singh, reminding people of the ‘dark days’ of his government, when there was no power, roads and water.

As journalists laughed at the coincidence, Javadekar and state BJP leaders present on the dais were left red-faced. Once the power supply was restored after about 15 minutes, Javadekar had this to say, “Digvijaya Singh ka naam lete hi bijli chali gayi.”
