An upset Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel on Monday criticized the Left parties for attacking the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government in the past two weeks.
"I am pained that people are making such casual remarks in such an important debate in parliament. They want to create an image that the government does not care and is anti-poor," Patel, who is from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), said during the debate on the trust motion in parliament.
Reminding the Left parties that they should not go overboard in criticizing the UPA government, Patel said: "You were party to all the decisions of this government in the last four years. You can conveniently deny it now".
Referring to the Left withdrawing support to the government, he said: "You have been criticizing the government in the last two weeks. You never did it in the last four years,
