Pratibha Patil, the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) presidential nominee, arrived in Chandigarh on Saturday afternoon to meet legislators and MPs from Punjab and Haryana ahead of the July 19 election.
Patil visited the Punjab Congress headquarters here to meet legislators from the state. Thirty-eight out of the 44 Congress legislators were present at the meeting.
Former Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh, who recently underwent surgery in London, could not attend the meeting.
