Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Pratik Patil, has expressed satisfaction over the meeting with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh after junior ministers called on him complaining that their seniors are not giving them enough work.
"The meeting called to know problems of junior ministers was satisfactory and the directives given to cabinet ministers would help all the Union Ministers of State (MoS) to work in perfect order now," Patil who was here to attend a private function told reporters on Thursday.
After the directives, the MoS would now learn more about the responsibilities and will update the working style in future, he said.
An aggrieved group of junior ministers had recently met the Prime Ministers for an interaction lamenting that their senior cabinet ministers were not giving them enough work, demanding that they may be allowed to give inputs in policy and decision-making process since they do not attend cabinet meetings.
Patil also said though many of the junior ministers are members of the "Rahul team", the Congress General Secretary never interfered in their ministry or decision-making process.
On sport activities in the state, Patil said the Maharashtra government has not utilised the central fund of Rs 14 crore allocated for sports, since last two years.
"Today sports activities have become a sheer financial affair. Government is levying taxes on one hand and on the other associations are after money to boost their income," the minister for sports and youth affairs noted.
