Pravin Mahajan, serving a life sentence for murdering his brother and BJP leader Pramod Mahajan, is imparting knowledge to inmates of Nashik Road Central Prison.

According to Jail Superintendent Ashok Rane, Pravin regularly teaches various subjects to the illiterate inmates in two sessions.

He had brought some books with him when he was shifted here in December last year, he said.

Rane said Pune-based Rajya Sadhana Kendra was paying Rs 300 honorarium each for the teachers imparting education to the inmates, while Tata Consultancy Services has donated three computers for them.

Pravin, who was convicted by a Mumbai Sessions Court in December, has moved the Bombay High Court against the conviction.
