Late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan’s brother-in-law and the party’s prime campaigner in Gujarat Gopinath Munde on Sunday took a dig at Pravin Mahajan for his “efforts to malign” the image of his brother, saying the act amounts to “indecency and ungratefulness”.
“Late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan was a man of principle and had a strong commitment to party ideology till his last breath. Pravin Mahajan’s efforts to malign the image of his late brother, Pramod, was an act of indecency, ungratefulness, and unethical,” Munde told PTI in Ahmednagar.
Munde, who was addressing two public meetings at Rahuri and Panner for BJP candidate Dilip Gandh before leaving Ahmednagar, said he cannot comment more as the issue (Pramod Mahajan’s murder case) is sub judice.
He, however, added that Pramod Mahajan will always remain as an idol for every grass-root BJP worker for his dedication and contribution to the party.
48-year-old Pravin, who is undergoing life imprisonment for murdering Pramod in his house, is believed to have written a book, “My Album”, and purported excerpts from the book were published in a leading Marathi daily on Sunday in which he alleged that Pramod had extra-marital affair and his wife, Rekha, had even thought of a divorce.
