CHIEF MINISTER Mulayam Singh Yadav would distribute cheques worth Rs 7 crore under unemployment allowances scheme on September 22 and administration is likely to spend Rs 2 crore for putting up the grand show.
It sound contrary that a government who failed to provide basic medical facilities to the Japanese Encephalitis (JE) patients would spend around Rs 10 crore on a programme to distribute the unemployment cheques.
The preparations for the event are in full swing and various teams of different department are working round the clock to decorate the venue at DDU Gorakhpur University. Public works Department (PWD) would invest Rs 13.31 lakh for the construction of helipad and barricading and Rs 40 lakh for erecting 10 enclosures on the site.
Around 2000 buses will be deployed to bring the beneficiaries from different districts, which would cost around Rs 25 lakh. Taking a lesson from the various incidents in such programmes in different district, where some youth fainted due to scorching heat, the district administration has left no stone unturned to ensure the success of the programme.
Around two-dozen tankers will be deployed for water supply besides arrangement of Bisleri water for the beneficiaries who take their seats into the allotted premises by 8 am.
Administration has made special arrangement to provide first aid to the people on the spot. A dispensary will be installed along with an operation theatre. Besides, two wards in district hospital and BRD Medical College have been reserved to accommodate the affected people in any case.
According to minute to minute programme of the chief minister, he would arrived at 9.40 at Gorakhpur Air Force and from here he would reach Gorakhpur University ground by a helicopter at 9.55 am. He would stay here for one hour from 10 to 11 am and at 11.20 he will fly back to Lucknow.
During his visit, the CM would lay the foundation stones of six-dozen projects and would inaugurate two- dozen projects. He would lay various foundation stones at university premises. These projects are worth Rs 112 crore. Beside it, he would inaugurate one dozen projects, which has been completed with investment of Rs 4.24 crore including a multipurpose theatre at Ramgarh Tal.
Meanwhile, employment exchange officer Sushil Kumar said that the list of beneficiaries under unemployment allowances was pasted at Tehsil headquarters.
He has requested all the beneficiaries to bring the document including high school certificate, registration number in employment exchange and the receipt of submitting the forms for the unemployment allowances.
