A STATE-level workshop to discuss and review preparations for the successful conduction, coordination and achievement of the targets of the eighth Bal Sanjeevani campaign was held today in the Capital. The campaign will be held across the State between April 15 and May 15.

A STATE-level workshop to discuss and review preparations for the successful conduction, coordination and achievement of the targets of the eighth Bal Sanjeevani campaign was held today in the Capital. The campaign will be held across the State between April 15 and May 15.

Experts issued guidelines and in general explained the proper way to go about the campaign to District Women and Child Development officers, district programme officers and chief medical and health officers who attended the meeting.

Principal secretary of Women and Child Development Department O P Rawat, Principal Secretary of Public Health and Family Welfare Madanmohan Upadhyay and director (projects) P Narhari were present along with other experts from health sector.

The Bal Sanjeevani campaign was launched in the State in 2001 with specific objective of reducing malnourishment levels among children up to the age of five years.

The seventh phase of the campaign was conducted between October 15 and November 14. As many as 75 lakh children were targetted during this campaign by the way of `weight camps’ conducted through anganwadi centres of the Women and Child Development Department.
