President to address nation tomorrow

President APJ Abdul Kalam will deliver an address to the nation on Monday on the eve of Independence Day.

President APJ Abdul Kalam will deliver an address to the nation on Monday on the eve of the 60th Independence Day.

The address would be broadcast on all channels of Doordarshan at 7.00 pm and on all kendras  of All India Radio at 7.30 pm, followed by regional channels, a Rashtrapati Bhavan spokesperson said.

The Press Information Bureau has also made special arrangements for the webcast of President's address as also Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's Independence Day address from the ramparts of the Red Fort.

These webcasts would be available simultaneously with their being broadcast on Doordarshan at 7.00 pm on www.pib.nic.in on Monday and on 7.00 am on August 15.

The PIB and National Informatics Centre have been jointly collaborating for these and other webcasts on issues of national importance.
