Prez, VP, PM greet people on Ram Navami

President Pratibha Patil, Vice President Hamid Ansari and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh greet the people on the occasion of Ram Navami.

President Pratibha Patil, Vice President Hamid Ansari and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Sunday greeted the people on the occasion of Ram Navami and hoped that the festival would inspire the people to lead a virtuous life.

"Let this festival inspire us to serve humanity with dedication and devotion because service of humanity is the real service of God," Patil said in her greetings from Lisbon.

In his message, Ansari said Lord Rama personified in his life the high ideals and noble virtues as Maryada Purushottama. On this occasion, let us imbibe the enlightened teachings of Lord Rama to usher in peace, happiness and harmony," he said.

Singh hoped the festival would strengthen people's faith in the goodness of mankind and inspire one and all to lead a virtuous life.
