The Royals are never out of the roving, probing eyes of Britain’s tabloids. One of them, the Mirror, found Prince Harry celebrating his passing out as an army officer "by knocking back enough booze to pass out again."
According to the report, in a first 10-hour session of a 48-hour bender, he and girlfriend Chelsy Davy, 20, guzzled an astonishing variety of drinks, including bottles of Carlsberg beer, vodka shots and champagne.
Flushed with alcohol, the 21-year-old prince hugged an army colleague and at one point looked as if he was reeling dangerously backwards.
The following night, the young prince splashed out £2,500 on booze with brother Wills and his girlfriend Kate Middleton, 24, at a fashionable Kensington nightclub.
Their drinks included potent "crack babies" — vodka, champagne, passion fruit and strawberries — and £400 bottles of Belvedere vodka, as well as booze on the house.
And when the bash wound up at 4 am they told staff they were off to a house party.
Second Lieutenant Harry Windsor, who is to join the Blues and Royals regiment, was celebrating after graduating from Sandhurst on Wednesday.
At a lavish ball held at the army college in Camberley, Surrey, revellers were treated to a free bar.
"As the night wore on, Harry knocked back vodka and champagne, puffed on Cuban cigars and smoked Marlboro Light cigarettes. Chelsy, wearing a stunning backless green dress and blue wrap, was never far from his side.
"The couple, who were joined by Wills, spent most of the night with friends in the main party tent," a tabloid reported.
