A student of Class 3 suffered multiple fractures in his arm after he was beaten up by his school principal.

That was not all. After beating up the 7-year-old, Shailender Singh Baloria principal of Yuva Shakti Day Boarding School, 18 km from Jammu, allegedly kicked him repeatedly and then locked him up in a classroom for three hours on Friday.

“He kept beating me with a stick, and then kicked me,” said the victim, Vasu Dev Sharma.

Baloria was arrested on Sunday after the victim’s parents lodged a complaint. However, he was granted bail a few hours later.

Doctors have advised Vasu three months of complete bedrest.

The boy’s parents have alleged that Baloria tried to hush up the matter by offering them money, and even threatened to use his political connections against them. “We have never hit our child. We can’t bear seeing him in so much pain,” said Praveen Sharma, Vasu’s uncle.
