THE TWENTY-NINTH annual convention of the UP Pradhanacharya Parishad (UP Principals’ Council) will be held at Ganna Sansthan auditorium at 9 am on Monday. Chief minister Mulayam Singh will be the chief guest on the occasion.
Giving this information at a Press conference on Sunday, patron of the organisation Shree Niwas Shukla said the function would be presided over by Mata Prasad Pandey, while MP Mohan Singh would deliver the keynote address.
He said the organisation would also place a few demands before the chief minister.
The basic demands are an end to discrimination between regular and ad hoc principals, though they get the same salary and the pension from the government.
“The organisation has fought over several issues and succeeded in getting some major demands accepted. We will continue to struggle for the benefits of the teaching-fraternity and students,” Shukla said.
The programme includes an open discussion about the problems of principals in the state. About 2000 principals were expected to participate in the programme, said Dr TP Singh, the organisation’s general secretary.
The concluding session of the programme will be held on June 27 at the Rajkiya Jubilee Inter College. A seminar on education standards will also be held before the closing ceremony.
