A 16-day-long magisterial probe into an illegal abortion of a deaf and mute rape victim, has recommended cancellation of license of a local doctor’s nursing home.

The case came to light on September 3. The police immediately seized the nursing home’s papers and arrested CISF jawan CK Murthy for allegedly raping the 16-year-old girl. A magisterial inquiry was also ordered the same day.

Sub-divisional magistrate Dheeraj Shrivastava in his inquiry report, submitted to district collector Ashutosh Awasthi on Friday, found Dr Sandhya Khare guilty of conducting the abortion on a three-month pregnant girl, destroying the evidence and recommended cancellation of her nursing home’s license with immediate effect.

Following the magisterial probe, Bank Note Press Police station has booked her under sections 176, 201 and 202 of IPC in the matter.

On September 3, the victim complained of severe pain in her stomach. Following this, her mother took her to Dr Khare’s clinic for sonography, in which it was revealed that she was pregnant.

During investigation, it was found that even after sensing the seriousness of the matter, Dr Khare terminated the pregnancy without informing the police. The sub-divisional magistrate ordered probe the same day.

During the investigation, it was found that the CISF jawan, who lived near the victim’s home, had raped the girl and the doctor had aborted her despite knowing the complexity fully well.

Husband of the gynecologist, Dr Neeraj Khare, claimed that they had the necessary license and victim's parents gave their consent for ending the pregnancy.
