The district magistrate has ordered an investigation into the involvement of revenue department officials in the illegal sale of government land in the area.
The administration has also banned the sales and purchase as well as registration of the properties in the area. “We would now start the process of evicting the occupants who have created structures here. We would also initiate criminal proceedings against the concerned revenue officers who were instrumental in tampering with the records and allowed sale of the land,” the district magistrate PC Meena said.
According to officials, a number of houses, farmhouses as well as commercial establishments have been construction on about 100 acres of the land.
