?Probe into Prof?s death with full objectivity?

india Updated: Sep 10, 2006 13:44 IST

RULING OUT a CBI probe into the death of Professor H S Sabharwal,  Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Saturday said that the state CID is probing the case with full objectivity and those responsible for the teacher’s death will not be spared.

“There is no need for handing over the probe to any other agency and the state government is probing the case with full objectivity. Guilty persons, whoever they may be, will not be spared,” he told reporters at the airport here.

On reports that some of the BJP leaders questioned him during the party’s Dehradun conclave about the slapping of murder charges against the two ABVP leaders in connection with the professor’s death, Chouhan said he came to know about it through the newspapers.

When asked whether he still considers the death of Sabharwal as an accident, Chouhan clarified that his statement was misreported by the media and added that at that time he has also described the incident as “very sad”.
