A magisterial probe has been ordered into an encounter in which two suspected gangsters were killed by Delhi Police, after their relatives alleged they were kidnapped from a court in New Delhi and shot dead.
The inquiry would be conducted by Ghaziabad SDM OP Singh and action initiated against anyone found guilty of lapses, District Magistrate MKS Sundaram said on Wednesday.
He said the relatives of Zulfikar, 20, and Nazakat, 22, had met him along with their lawyer, alleging that the two were "kidnapped from the Ghaziabad District Court compound by five policemen of Delhi Police and later shot dead".
They also claimed that the two were innocent, he said.
Delhi Police on Monday said the two residents of Meerut, accused in half-a-dozen cases of murder and dacoity in Uttar Pradesh, were shot dead after they opened fire at a patrol party near Jagatpura village in Timarpur, north Delhi.
