THE INDORE City Congress unit will organise a three-day programme from December 28 to commemorate the 121st anniversary of the founding of the Indian National Congress.
The party was founded by Briton AO Hume and others on December 28, 1885. The anniversary programme will commence with the unfurling of the party tricolour at the City Congress office by president Pramod Tandon at Gandhi Bhawan on Thursday at 9:30 am.
This will be followed by a ceremony to honour those who participated in the freedom struggle. The history of India’s struggle for independence and the role played by various party leaders in freeing the country from the yoke of British oppression will be recounted on the occasion.
The programme will conclude with distribution of uniforms to women Sewa Dal members. Sewa Dal will also organise a training camp for women as part of the programme.
