Programmes to mark Prohibition Week

PANCHAYAT & Social Justice Department will observe Prohibition Week from the date of birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi — October 2. Programmes will be organised in the State during the Week. A State-level programme will be held at Community Hall, TT Nagar, between October 2 and October 8.
A poster exhibition will be inaugurated on the first day of the Week at T T Nagar Community Hall. Public Health Engineering (PHE) and Social Justice Minister Rampal Singh will open the exhibition.
On October 3, a painting competition will be held followed by a Kavi Sammelan in the evening. An extempore competition will be held on October 4, quiz competition on October 5, essay writing competition on October 6, a rally by the NGOs on October 7 and prize distribution competition on the concluding day.
Students from all the schools and colleges of the City can participate in these competitions. The competitions will be organised in three groups — eight to 11 years, 12 to 17 years and 18 to 22 years.
Drawing sheets will be provided by the department. The participants will be required to bring brush and colours. Prizes will also be given to winners of different competitions.
The first prize of Rs 250, second prize of Rs 150 and third prize of Rs 100 will be given besides consolation prizes of Rs 50 each.
