A Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) has accused Member of Parliament from Baramati and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar’s daughter, Supriya Sule, of threatening him at a district planning meeting held in Pune on Saturday.
Shiv Sena’s MLA from Purandar, Vijay Shivtare, said he had asked Pune civic chief, Mahesh Zagade, about shifting of a garbage depot. Shivtare alleged that Sule intervened, saying she had discussed the matter with the civic chief.
According to Shivtare, he asked Sule after the meeting why she was interfering with his subject. To this, Shivtare said, Sule told him that he would have to pay a heavy price for this [arguing with her].
Shivtare claimed that he, in turn, told Sule he was willing to pay the price.
District Guardian Minister and NCP leader, Ajit Pawar, who chaired the meeting reportedly remained silent throughout the exchange of words between Sule and Shivtare.
All Members of Parliament and MLAs of the district were present at the meeting.
Shivtare said that besides being Pawar’s daughter, Sule had no credentials of her own. “I will write to Pawar, apprising him of the incident,” said Shivtare.
Sule told Hindustan Times: “I have nothing to say on the issue. I come from a different background and you know this.”
