Jaswant Singh in his book “A Call to Honour” has now revealed after 10 years that there was a mole in the PMO’s office at the time of Prime Minister Narasimha Rao who had leaked India’s secrets to USA.
Now, any Indian who is passing secret information to another country is guilty of an act of high treason and suppressing this information is also a grave offence under IPC 202.
Jaswant Singh being a senior leader of BJP who later became a minister in the Vajpayee’s Government was duty-bound to give this information of espionage activity to the appropriate authority so that legal action could be taken against the man who committed the espionage.
I think no mercy should be shown to him and he may be given the punishment under IPC 202 so that people do not suppress the facts relating to the commission of an act of treason.
Earlier also, former joint director, Intelligence Bureau, MK Dhar in his book “Open Secrets: Unveiling Truth” had stated that a chief minister of a state was in league with ISI of Pakistan which is aiding and abetting the militants to commit terrorist act in India.
He has also not revealed the name of the chief minister who is also guilty of an act of high treason. He like Jaswant Singh should also be tried under IPC 202 and both Singh and Dhar should be asked to divulge the names of the culprits of spying activities named in their books so that action could be taken against those culprits also.
