THE STATE Cabinet, which met here on Monday, decided to make punishment for cow slaughter more stringent. Cow slaughter will now attract a punishment of 10 years. The Cabinet further decided to make it mandatory for the cow or any bovine specie being transported from other states through MP to get an advanced permission from the State Government for the purpose.
These provisions would be made in the Cow Protection Act, when it is re-introduced in the State Assembly in the forthcoming budget session. The Cabinet also approved the draft of Court Fee Bill under which the State Government would seek mandate for its decision to effect five-fold hike in court fee for different sorts of litigations.
Besides, the State Cabinet also approved the budget for next fiscal to be presented in the State Assembly in the forthcoming session and draft of the Governor’s address. The Cabinet also accorded administrative sanction for construction of Panna-Amanganj and Katni-Damoh roads.
