However, Sher-e-Punjab are ahead on the basis of better goal difference (8) compared to Pune Strykers' 4. Both have won two matches each so far and have played a draw each.

Sher-e-Punjab got off to a flying start as Deepak Thakur scored a brilliant field goal in the fifth minute.

Thereafter, the teams adopted a cautious approach with no team scoring a goal till the 33rd minute when Thakur caught the Pune Strykers and banged home his team's second goal. Pune Strikers were able to score their first in the 45th minute when Gurpreet converted a penalty corner.

Prabhjot then found the target in the 54th minute to help Punjab go 3-1 up.

But Bikash Toppo scored two in the final 10 minutes to help his side bounce back in the match. In another match, Chandigarh Comets beat Mumbai Marines 5-2.
