Commuters are likely to face more problems in coming days. Now reaching destinations such as Manesar and Sohna from the city would not be easy for them as 19 of a total of 30 buses of the transport co-operative society may not get their permits renewed due to non-payment of road tax.

As per the information, there are 30 buses providing city residents an easy way to reach different destinations which include Manesar, Sohna, Badshahpur and Lahowal. But because of non-payment of taxes, the district transport department has decided not to renew permits of 19 buses.

Sohan Lal, assistant secretary, Road Transport Authority, said, “We got instructions from the transport commission of Haryana that those who have pending cases would not be issued permits from now.” He further said, “Initially we will issue notices to these defaulters but if they do not respond to these notices we would impound their vehicles.”

Private bus operators introduced buses on the routes because of the non-availability of public transport system.
