The city police have warned private security agencies of strict action if they do not follow the required safety norms. From now, a database will be maintained to keep a tab on security guards provided by such firms.

“We have asked private security agencies to make a complete data base of their guards. We have also asked the agencies to provide them training after a gap of every 20 days,” said Vikas Arora, DCP, Gurgaon (east).

The police will also maintain data provided by the security agencies. It is the responsibility of the security agency owners to follow the guidelines, said Arora.

Taking action in a case, the city police have recommended the authority concerned not to issue licence to an agency manning Sushant Lok. There are around 150 private security agencies in the city.

The Private Security Agencies Rule, 2009 was notified by the Haryana government on August 31, 2009.

“We will blacklist the agencies which do not follow the norms by uploading their details on websites. Also, the police will inform the authority concerned to take the strict action against them,” said Arora.

He said the companies which are using the service of these security agencies should hire only those that have a valid licence.
