The earthquake, which jolted North and Eastern India yesterday, left a 70-foot long crack on the NH-75 in Latehar district, disrupting traffic, a government official said on Monday.

"The crack came up after the tembler in Latehar district last evening," sadar sub-divisional officer Rajesh Pathak told newsmen here.

"The tremor left a 70-foot long/10-foot deep crater on the road disrupting traffic near Sikni Colliery. Road restoration work is on," he added.

However, reports of two casualties in Latehar district following the earthquake could not be officially confirmed.

Almost the entire Jharkhand experienced tremors around 6.15 pm yesterday.
