The Oversight Committee set up by the Centre to suggest a roadmap on providing reservations for OBCs in educational institutions, will be meeting on July 13 in the national capital to consider the interim reports submitted by expert groups.
Committee Chairman M Veerappa Moily, who also heads the Second Administrative Reforms Commission, said that the five expert groups have submitted interim reports, but declined to divulge the details.
Asked whether the Oversight Committee was optimistic of finalising its report by the end of next month, Moily said, "The issue would be decided by the committee."
Soon after the Centre set up the Oversight Committee in the wake of opposition to the proposed reservation for OBCs, five expert groups were formed to guide the committee in identifying the undergraduate and post graduate courses in institutions imparting professional courses to determine the quantum of quota.
The committee has been given the task of arriving at a quota formula without affecting the interest of the meritorious students.
