Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Thursday said that an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh each would be given to next of kin of the deceased and missing persons hailing from Haryana during the recent Uttarakhand calamity.
An official spokesperson said in a release that 113 people had been missing or had died during the devastation and the ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh each would be given to next of kin of the deceased.
The spokesperson said that out of total ex-gratia grant, Rs 5 lakh would be given by the state government from the chief minister's relief fund, while remaining amount had been announced by the Uttarakhand government.
An amount of Rs 2 lakh would be met from the prime minister's relief fund and Rs 1.50 lakh would be met from the national disaster response fund. The Uttarakhand government would be paying Rs 1.50 lakh from their state exchequer.
The spokesperson said besides relief material and services, the state government had also decided to adopt 25 devastated villages for rehabilitation works.
