R'sthan govt demands Rs 3200 cr for flood relief

A memorandum for assistance was submitted to the PM by the Resident Commissioner of R'sthan in Delhi.
The BJP government in Rajasthan on Wednesday asked the Centre to grant a special package of Rs 3200.96 crore for relief measures in 12 out of 32 districts following floods and heavy rains, which claimed 139 lives since August 15.
A memorandum for assistance was submitted to the Prime Minister by the Resident Commissioner of Rajasthan in Delhi, Relief Minister KL Meena told reporters in Jaipur.

So far, the state government has spent Rs 536 crore, including Rs 218.21 crore obtained through National Calamity Relief Fund, on the flood relief operations in 12 districts including the worst-hit Barmer, Meena said.
