The foundation stone for rail and road projects worth Rs 1,500 crore will be laid on July 28, Rohtak MP Deependar Hooda told the media here on Sunday.

The railway line from Hansi to Rohtak via Meham and four-laning of the Hisar-Delhi national highway would be completed soon, the Congress leader said after attending a party workers' meeting.

Deependar asked workers to propagate among people the progress achieved by the Congress government. "Remarkable work has been done for progress in sports, education, industry and employment sectors. The government has spent Rs 543 crore for social welfare schemes in Hisar district alone," he added.

Chief parliamentary secretary Vinod Bhayana, Congress legislators Sampat Singh, Savitri Jindal and Ram Niwas Ghorela, and district Congress committee (DCC) chief Jai Prakash addressed the party workers.
