The state government on Saturday sanctioned Rs 5 crore for the victims of the Jammu province for the loss of property they suffered after the incidents that took place in Kishtwar district on August 9.
As per an order of the general administration department, a sanction has been accorded to release Rs 5 crore ex-gratia relief to the victims whose houses and shops got damaged during clashes in Kishtwar.
The funds have been kept at disposal of the department of revenue relief and rehabilitation.
Divisional commissioner, Jammu, Shantmanu said the ex-gratia would be provided on basis of damage to the property.
Three people were killed in communal violence in Kishtwar on August 9, besides loss to property. As per reports, around 100 shops and houses were set on fire by rioters.
