Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has appointed S.N. Bhobe & Company, a registered engineering consultant firm to study the feasibility of the elevated road over the city’s racecourse at Mahalaxmi.

BMC has also asked the private firm to prepare the initial design of the proposed 1.5 km flyover.

However, the consultant will take at least three

to four months to prepare the report on the feasibility and estimated cost of the project. “The Royal Western India Turf Club (RWITC) has accepted to cooperate with the civic body without any limitations,” said civic sources.

The traffic deparment had made the plan and proposed the flyover over the racecourse to ease the traffic coming from the Bandra-Worli sealink.
