India must be disappointed. For the first time, they outplayed England only to have the weather crash their plans.

India can however take credit for a good all-round performance. I am impressed with the way the youngsters performed. India's fighting total was thanks to a super innings by Parthiv Patel as well as a repeat performance from the young Ajinkya Rahane. He has good technique and is a great find. India should play him in all forms of the game.

The batting looked particularly good, despite the absence of so many stars. Virat Kohli played another excellent innings. There is something about Suresh Raina. He has a great future in ODIs. He hits the ball cleanly and has the correct attitude. He is the right choice as vice-captain, and to my mind, he is a future captain in ODIs.

I thought the England bowlers bowled too many short-pitched deliveries. In contrast, the India bowlers pitched the ball up a lot more and put the pressure on England's openers.

While India are producing good batsmen, I'd like to see some young bowlers who can bowl at 140 kmph. India's injury woes continue. It must be tragic that Rohit and Tendulkar are doubtful.
