Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi will campaign in Jharkhand on Friday, a party leader said in Ranchi on Wednesday. He is scheduled to campaign in the constituencies that go to the polls Dec 8 in the third of the state's five-phase assembly elections.
"Rahul Gandhi will campaign at four places on Friday," Congress' Jharkhand unit general secretary Shailesh Sinha told IANS.
He said Rahul will campaign in Bermo of Bokaro district, Latehar, Visunpur of Gumla district and Simdega.
Sinha further said Congress president Sonia Gandhi may campaign in the fourth and fifth phases.
Rahul and Sonia Gandhi had campaigned for the first and second phases in the last week of November.
Another Congress leader said: "We have no information of any election campaign by the prime minister. The prime minister has a busy schedule and may skip the poll campaign."
The last phase of polling will take place on Dec 18. Votes will be counted on Dec 23.
