Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi took several potshots at Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati on Saturday. Addressing the 40,000-strong crowd in former BJP CM Kalyan Singh's stronghold, Kasganj, Gandhi said the Centre sanctions funds for various schemes, but the magic elephant sitting in Lucknow eats them up.
Gandhi also slammed Mayawati for her reservations over the proposed Food Security Bill, saying she had not even given it a proper thought.
On unemployment he said, "When the rest of Delhi sleeps, there are people from UP who rise in the night and work."
Earlier addressing the rally, party general secretary Digvijaya Singh and blamed Team Anna for sparing Mayawati.
