Police have conducted raids in Delhi and other places in search of Shadan Masood and his four family members accused in a fraud case registered in Nanauta police station of Saharanpur on Monday, 170 km north from Delhi.

Shadan is son of Samajwadi Party`s national Sr vice president Rasheed Masood and had contested previous Loksabha election as SP candidate from Kairana constituency.

" His family has fallen victim of political vindictive of Mayawati", charged Rasheed Masood over to phone from Delhi.

"Shadan and four others of his family have been accused of committing a fraud and a case has been lodged against them in Nanuta police station", said the SSP of Saharanpur Amit Chandra.

According to a complaint lodged by PICUP ( agency that gives loan to establish a factory)Shadan and four others had taken a loan in 1990 to establish a factory in district Saharanpur. Five guarantors pledged their land for required loan. But, they did not repay the loan which now amounts to staggering Rs 6.33 crore. " While executing a recovery process officials found that land pledged by the guarantors does not exit at all", said the SSP.

After consultation with senior officials an FIR was lodged two days ago and police parties were dispatched to nab named persons including Shadan Masood, said the SSP insisting raids would be continued against accused who are still at large. " We have enough evidence to substantiate their crime", he asserted.

Refuting the changes levelled against his son and other family members Rasheed Masood charged officials for working against his family on behest of Mayawati. He said that Shadan and other family members have been been wrongly implicated in the case." We are consulting to our lawyers to decide about the future course of action", said Masood unfolding that his wife, son, nephew, daughter-in-law and other family members had also been implicated in false cases in past three years.
