Police on Monday conducted raids in the city and nearby areas to nab the persons who shot dead cricketer Gagandeep Singh outside a kebab shop in Meerut three days ago.

A senior police officer said they have conducted raids to hunt for the two accused who shot dead Singh and his friend Shahnawaz over a row.

So far one person, Rahul, has been arrested and police have claimed to have recovered the weapon used in the crime, a .32 bore revolver, from him.

Singh represented India in an under-19 series in Australia. He had come to the city to play in the GK Naidu tournament.
