Rain lashes Valley;more rain predicted

Heavy rainfall lashed several parts of the Kashmir Valley on Monday, while the meteorological department officials have predicted more rain in the state during the next 24 hours.

Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, recorded a minimum temperature of 12°Celsius with 2.2 mm of rainfall till 8.30 am on Monday, a MeT official said.

The famous tourist resort, Pahalgam in south Kashmir, recorded a minimum temperature of 7.4°Celsius with 10.6 mm rainfall, official added.

Gulamarg, the famous ski resort, recorded a minimum temperature of 3.8°Celsius with 6.4°Celsius, while Kupwara, in north Kashmir, recorded a minimum temperature of 10°Celsius with 30.8 mm rainfall, the official said.

Kokarnag, in south Kashmir, recorded a minimum temperature of 9.7°Celsius and received 2.2 mm rainfall, while Qazigund, the gateway town to the Kashmir Valley, recorded a minimum temperature of 8.4°Celsius with 2.2 mm, the official added.

Leh, in Ladakh region, recorded a minimum temperature of 6.8°Celsius, while Kargil town recorded 11°Celsius.

Forecast
The MeT officials have predicted moderate to heavy rain in most parts of Jammu and Kashmir during the next 24 hours.
