As many as 35 people have lost their lives in heavy rains in various parts of Madhya Pradesh in the last three days, officials said on Friday.
The maximum damage was caused in Indore district where the heavy rains claimed lives of 20 people, they said.
In the district, six persons died on Wednesday, while 14 lost their lives on Thursday, an official said.
Five persons died in Chhindwara district, three in Narsinghpur district, six in Sagar district and one in Mandsaur district, they said.
A total of 6,600 persons have been housed in various relief camps with over 2,000 of them living in a relief camp in Harda, the officials said.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday announced in the state Assembly, a compensation of Rupees one lakh each to the kin of those died in the rain.
