FOLLOWING SEVERAL complaints of corruption and irregularities at the MP Bhoj Open University, the chancellor’s office has sent an inquiry to the Vice-Chancellor Dr Kamlakar Singh seeking clarification on various points.
Raj Bhavan sources while confirming that a clarification had been sought from Dr Singh said this was routine procedure adopted by the Chancellor’s office when serious complaints were received. Sources added, after the clarification comes from the person charged and if they were not found satisfactory, only then a formal inquiry would be conducted into the complaints.
They said prima facie some complaints seemed important while some pertained to the tenure of the earlier Vice-Chancellor. Yet, clarifications had been sought so that further action could be decided, they said.
The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) had charged the university and the vice-chancellor with financial and procedural irregularities. The NSUI had approached the Raj Bhavan and submitted complaints there, following which clarifications have been sought.
