THE RAJ Bhawan has finally relieved the additional legal advisor to Governor Pradeep Dubey.
Raj Bhawan, which is yet to appoint a successor to Dubey, has asked special secretary to Governor, Hari Charan Prakash to take charge in place of Dubey for the time being.
The Allahabad High Court had shifted Dubey as ADJ Ballia. Dubey was subsequently placed under suspension when Governor refused to relieve him.
With this the ongoing standoff between the Raj Bhawan and Allahabad High Court may come to an end. Much would, however, depend on the Raj Bhawan’s announcement about Dubey’s successor. Raj Bhawan had already interviewed three senior judicial officers for the post of Governor’s legal advisor.
Earlier, the Supreme Court had asked Dubey to report to his place of posting by November 24, 2006.
Dubey has sent a representation to the High Court urging it to reconsider the issue of his transfer as Additional District Judge (ADJ), Ballia and subsequent suspension.
